Ocean View Flowers is proud to use The Procona
System by Jan A.W. Pagter of Pagter Innovations in Dinteloord, Holland. The
word Procona means: Flowers from producer to consumer
in aqua (water).
The Procona System is a plastic container coupled
with a cardboard collar which fits the container and a lid with many openings to
provide proper ventilation and also allows the customer to clearly see the color
of the flowers. This type of packaging enables the flowers to keep their quality
during shipment.
The Procona System is ideal for long distance
transportation. They can be shipped loosely or be fitted onto pallets,
supermarket trolleys and auction trolleys. The dimensions of the plastic
container are 30 x 40 centimeters. It is available in a height of 35 and 25
centimeters. The cardboard collars are available in 11 different heights, so
that all lengths of flowers can be accommodated for packing. The corners of the
lid are very stiff and strong by means of ribs. Ridges have been made on the
lid, so that the package cannot shift when stacked. Proconas can be stacked to a
height of 280 centimeters after they have been nylon banded. There are 30
ventilation openings in the lid which are very important to the preservation of
flowers. The vents allow water vapor to escape the package while cold air can
enter.
On arrival, the nylon band is cut, the lid is removed and the
cardboard is thrown away. The flowers are ready to be sold. The lid and the
container are made for single and multiple use. The buckets can be reused or
recycled. The Procona System is environmentally safe and ecologically sound.
The cost of shipping flowers to you in The Procona System is
the same per cubic foot as shipping a normal box (the average size of a Procona
is 2.8 cubic feet) and by using The Procona System, you will have the additional
assurance of receiving your flowers in the highest quality condition, which is
our goal at Ocean View Flowers. For additional information or questions, please
